Fees for Verification of Information and for Copies<\/h4>\r\n

The practice of verifying Dates of Birth for background researchers without charge is discontinued. Deputy Clerks will verify Dates of Birth contained in criminal records and\/or confirm the last four digits of Social Security Numbers for a fee.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

All requests must be submitted in writing. The Deputy Clerks will perform these services as soon as possible, but there is no guaranteed time table for performance.1<\/sup>\u00a0These services are secondary to the performance of the Deputy Clerks\u2019 assigned duties. This information is available from other sources, if these terms are not acceptable.<\/p>\r\n

Presently, configurations for the State Court of Bibb County\u2019s website do not permit access to this information from the Court\u2019s records. The goal is to enable the public, including researchers, to access this information on the Court\u2019s website. The dates of birth in criminal cases are available on the public access computer in the Clerk\u2019s Office, without requiring involvement of Deputy Clerks and for no charge, other than copies.<\/p>\r\n

1<\/sup>\u00a0Georgia\u2019s Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. \u00a750-18-70 et seq., applies to \u201cAgencies,\u201d which has the same meaning as in Georgia\u2019s Open Meetings Act. The judicial branch is not encompassed within that definition.\u00a0See Fathers Are Parents Too, Inc. v. Hunstein<\/u>, 202 Ga. App. 716 (1992).
